At the request of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), timber and wooden containers transported over the border must be processed in accordance with the requirements of the ISPM 15 standard. This standard contains a list of phytosanitary protection measures to reduce the risk of entry and spread of quarantine pests carried with wooden packaging materials.
The wooden container processed according to the ISPM15 standard is marked with special signs identifying the processing company and also with the abbreviation corresponding to the phytosanitary processing method.
According to the technical regulations, all licensed EPAL manufacturers are required to comply with the ISPM 15 standard for the production of EPAL pallets, as evidenced by the made IPPC marking on the central block.
